Photography

We shortlisted these three photos and asked people within our target
market to choose the one they liked this most.

We looked at all our photographs from our new shoot and selected
these four for our back cover.

We ended up selecting this photograph:

CD Cover Process

CD Cover:

This was our original plan for our CD  cover. When we changed the "bad girl"
photo-shoot background colour from black to white, we decided to do the same
with the CD cover but keep the layout the same.

We used the dimensions of the CD to create a blank document. We then used the
shape tool to create a circle using the outlines of the document. We used the rulers
in Photoshop to make the CD as accurate as possible.

To keep with the white/grey theme of the CD package, we added the grey to white
gradient on the CD. Whereas the gradient is horizontal on the front and back covers
the gradient is vertical to keep with the theme but add a bit of variety to the package.

The text we added onto the CD was the same font and colour of the rest of the CD
package. All of the small print at the bottom of the CD is inspired by our case studies,
particularly Rihanna's "Loud" album. Each piece of text is a different size and colour
so that the consumer doesn't get confused.

Back Cover Process

Back Cover:

This was our original plan for our CD back cover. When we changed the "bad girl"
photo-shoot background colour from black to white, we decided to do the same
with the back cover but keep the layout the same.

Once we used Google to find out the dimensions of the back cover, we chose the image from our photo shoot that we wanted and began to photo shop the background so that it was white, however we weren't happy with the results so we decided to cut the image at her waist and add the white-to-grey gradient effect.

We added the track listing and running time information first and decided to work around it to build the rest of the back cover until it was complete.

CD Front Cover Process

This was our original idea for CD front cover we agreed on our text, font size and layout pretty quickly.

We added two different images from our photo shoot that were chosen by our target audience:

After an informal survey, we decided to use the second image as we found it symbolic that she isn't giving the audience eye contact. Following the initial plan we decided to make the text bigger and use the emboss tool using Adobe Photoshop to make the text stand out amongst the picture and so that her hair wasn't in the way of the text. We used the blur tool to make her face look sharper and clearer.
